Aromatherapy Facials using Natural and Organic Ingredients
How Aromatherapy Works
The Routine Consists of
- Cleansing
A gentle cleansing of the face using a home-made cleansing oil (grapeseed
carrier oil and orange and lavender essential oils).
- Steaming
A gentle steaming of the face using flannels dipped in warm water infused
with an organic peppermint or camomile tea bag. This action helps to relax
the face and open the pores in preparation for the massage with scented
oils that will follow.
- Facial Massage
gentle aromatherapy facial massage using a suitable carrier oil
and 3-4 drops of essential oil (your own choice) lasting for about 15 minutes.
The movements in this invigorating facial massage stimulates the circulation,
bringing fresh, oxygenated blood to the area and eliminating waste to leave
the skin glowing.
- Face Mask
A natural mask of your own choice is then applied and left on for about
10 minutes, (all ingredients are organic where possible). Choose from: fresh
pureed strawberries, avocado, papaya, banana, yogurt and honey, oatmeal
or green clay. (click here for mask details).
Face masks rejuvenate and refine the skin with their nourishing, stimulating
and soothing properties. (Fruit contains AHA's - alpha hydroxyl acids -
which have been hailed as anti-wrinkling agents: by exfoliating the skin
and boosting its ability to retain water, they smooth out lines).
- Moisturising
The mask is then removed using organic flower water and a home made moisturiser
is applied and massaged gently into the face. Ingredients used are: beeswax,
jojoba and almond oil, flower water and 4 drops of essential oil. This action
prevents moisture loss and keeps the skin smooth and pliable.
